Postpartum Gift Guide - Our favorite 6 things!

As a mom of three, navigating the postpartum period can be both overwhelming and rewarding. There are so many things to learn not only as a new version of yourself, but a new dynamic between you and your partner and of course, your new baby. To make the transition smoother regardless of your baby's temperament, it's essential to have supportive tools and essentials that serve your relationship. There is so much joy in motherhood amongst the learning parts. Here are our top 6 essentials for postpartum:

1. Oneberrie First Bath Bundle

The first baths with a newborn can be intimidating, especially for first-time parents. The Oneberrie First Bath Bundle is a game-changer, providing not only step-by-step instructions but also all the necessary items to make bath time a predictable experience. No one should worry alone, even in the solitude of your bathroom. The first bath bundle comes with a towel, swaddle, washcloth, wipe and burp cloth all usable in and out of the tub setting. Hello to stress-free bonding time with your little one.

2. High Waisted Postpartum Underwear

Comfort is key during the postpartum period, regardless of the type of birth you had. I had three c-sections and underwear in recovery made ALL the difference. High waisted postpartum underwear is a must-have and you'll need a few. There is nothing worse than rolling seams or elastics that just don't feel right or touch in sensitive areas and breathability is a must.  Here are the high waisted underwear from Bodily, when the free disposable hospital ones are done. Hello to recovery feeling held, comfortable and secure.

3. Baby Wrap/Carrier

A baby wrap or carrier is a lifesaver for moms regardless of their baby's temperament. It allows you to keep your little one close while having your hands free to nurture, comfort and soothe. Whether you have a calm or high-needs baby, a baby wrap or carrier provides the closeness and security that babies crave. There are many baby wraps on the market - our favorite is Beluga Baby. Hello to giving you babies the closeness they felt in the womb.

4. Under 7lbs Sleepers

For newborns, tiny sleepers are often overlooked because of the sizing. I have seen so many new parents bring 0-3 sleepers to the hospital only to have their newborn baby swimming in it. My babies were 8lbs 3oz, 7lbs 14oz and 8lbs 5oz and the 0-7lbs sleepers from Gap are our favorite for their softness, wash/wear and perfect fit. Keep your little one cozy and cute in these adorable outfits designed specifically for new babies. Yes, sometimes the wear is short lived BUT get them on sale and they are worth every penny. Hello to adorable photos.

5. The Nurture Revolution Book

Knowledge is power, especially during the postpartum period. There is so much science to what happens to our brains and our brain development. 80% of our brain is wired before 3 years old. 90% before 5 years old. Our maternal brain also goes through a neurocognitive transformation. The Nurture Revolution book is a valuable resource that offers insights, tips, and guidance on bringing nurture and science into making the first 3-5 years as impactful as possible. Becoming a mother is a superpower. We are entirely in control of our infant mental health and that can make the world of a difference in their adult mental health. Shop at your local bookstore or online. Hello to nurture.

6. Dimming Light

Doing anything in the dark is not easy, especially with a newborn to care for. A dimming egg light is a simple tool for creating a soothing and calming environment for you both. The soft, adjustable light helps protect relaxation and sleep hormones, making those late-night feedings, adjustments or diaper changes or water runs a little easier. Our favorite is the MediAcous night light although you can find your favorite online. Hello to a peaceful night time.

Bonus

7. Twin Mattress

Skip the crib entirely. If I could do it all over again with my first and second - I would put all my crib $$ into a low thickness memory foam twin mattress and an airflow underlay (we didn't but also didn't think too). I don't think me and my husband slept as well as we did with our first two. The crib dangle and prayers of them staying asleep on a cold mattress made it so complicated. It was always an easier getaway from the floor bed or a safe sleep sleepover. This would be such a great gift to get yourself. Hello to sleep.
